The 100 Day Project - Week 3

Day 16 - Decided to draw a reference provided by @drawdailytogether who provides weekly references. This one is the French writer Colette’s house photographed by @julierossinnilib. I decided to use TomBow markers for this one and take a break from painting.

Day 16

Day 17 Another reference provided by @drawdailytogether. This is the Church of St. Mary Burgh St. Peter taken by @merilintod. I picked this one since I have a hard time with perspective. I did messed it up and tried to fix it as best I could.

Day 17

Day 18 - Didn’t have much time that day, and just did a quick painting with reference from @drawdailytogether. Picture was a planter of narcissis taken by @smidovalucia. I used as inspiration and these don’t really look narcissis. I decided to use gouache for this one.

Day 18

Day 19, wanted to work on perspective again. This picture taken by @maluhendrikszen in Zeeland, Netherlands. I didn’t really get the building correct but I still like how it came out. I’m trying to break away from taking the reference literally and interpret it as I want to. I decided to add some mountains in the background. I like to use colored pencils to add some more textures and details.

Day 19

Day 20 These are called wild roses that are in Hell, Poland taken by @fioletawacytryna and provided by @drawdailytogether. I finally loosened and didn’t think ahead. Sure helps once you get there. Let the watercolors do the work. The only I wished I had added a background color on the right hand side. Getting better at starting out with a background color. I think it adds a lot to the finished piece.

Day 20

Day 21 - Friday we got some new references from @drawdailytogether. All the new references definitely have a spring feel to them. This is another from @fioletowacytryna. This is an Oleander flower that grows in Montenegro. I used gouache and Neocolor pastels. I like the textures on this one.

Day 21

Day 22 This one is a field of blooming daffodils in Fosdyke taken by @merilintod and provided by @drawdailytogether. I’m not sure if the having done the 1st layer of paint with yellow for each row of daffodils really works. You have to try it to see if it will work or not. Also picked this one to work on perspective.

Day 22

Well, that wraps up another week for the 100 day project. It’s been nice to find another creative community @drawdailytogether on Instagram. It’s nice to see how everyone interprets the references provided each week.

Until next week!
